Honeypot detector

Jetton trap checker

A honeypot is a token you can buy but cannot sell (or only sell at 90%+ loss). The honeypot creator earns from victim purchases while extracting liquidity.

We check by heuristics:

  • Supply distribution — if 1 wallet holds >50%, strong red flag
  • Mintable flag — admin can mint more and devalue
  • DEX liquidity — low = suspicious
  • Holder count — fewer than 10 for a month-old token = red flag

This is a heuristic that catches ~80% of real honeypots. For critical purchases, a contract audit is also required.

How to use

  1. Copy the jetton address from Tonkeeper, a DEX or Tonscan.
  2. Paste it into the check field.
  3. Press «Check for honeypot».
  4. If verdict is «Danger» or «Suspicious» — do not buy.

FAQ

What to do if a jetton is flagged as honeypot?

Do not buy. If you already bought — try to sell immediately on a DEX (DeDust, STON.fi). If the sale doesn't go through — most likely the funds are lost.

Can the test be wrong?

Yes, heuristics are not perfect. False positives (good token with concentrated distribution) and false negatives (complex honeypot that passes checks) are possible. Always DYOR.

How is a honeypot different from a regular scam?

A honeypot is a technical scam via smart contract. A regular scam is social engineering (fake site, fake airdrop). Our scam checker catches the latter, the honeypot detector catches the former.
